It was a very random trip to Sitiawan because le friend misses ze beach very much. LOL! So, we drive all the way from Kampar to Sitiawan since it’s the nearest beach from our place. Sitiawan is a small historical town, you can still see lotsa old buildings that are now used as shop lots. The style of the buildings are quite different from those that I saw in Ipoh, Penang and Melacca. The atmosphere is so old style that I feel like as if I’ve stepped into a different time frame! This small little town really caught my attention right after I’ve stepped outta car because I’m sucha big vintage fans! :) Hyped me up a little ‘cause I expect this trip to be oh-so-boringly-boring! :D
Rainy morning! =)

Rainy morning with a cup of hot milo is simply blissful eventhough I don’t normally have them =) I forgot to take pictures of the shop since I’m still having my ‘morning-blur’. LOL! The shop is really vintage because they still have those black switch that my old house used to have! LOL!
This restaurant is famous for their Mao Mao Pau too but sadly, my friend and I forgot to get it. It’ll only be available after 3pm!
Smiley face dry Loh Mee. It’s really different from those I had in KL and my friend told me that it’s a must have if you’re in Sitiawan because it’s Sitiawan’s specialty! =) I still prefer KL’s because I think the portion is quite tasteless to me. LOL!
Kampong Koh Chilli Sauce that makes the dry loh mee a bomb. It match perfectly with the dry loh mee, I think supermarkets should sell them in a package. LOL! My dad LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE this sauce but I never bother to try ‘cause it doesn’t smell good to me. Teehee. Now I’ve changed my perspective, I shall try dipping my savoury finger foods with it when I’m home next time! =D
Soup loh mee that is CLEARLY VERY VERY different from what we have in KL. LOL! I would give this a thumb down because it’s TASTELESS! It doesn’t go so well with the Kampong Koh Chili Sauce either. I think Sitiawan people does prefer their food with lighter taste. LOL!
I searched through the internet and get to know that oyster omelette is one of the must-try in Sitiawan. Again, this is something that I didn’t expect because it’s different from what we normally have in Penang or KL. Literally, I’m a big fans of oyster omelette, especially the one in Gurney Drive Penang (blog post will be up soon). This is more of eggs instead of starch and oyster. They have scallions in it too. I prefer the one with more starch because the scallions grab the taste of the oysters. It’s much more suitable to order it with rice instead of just having it as side dish. It cost us RM 12 for this small pieces of oyster omelette. –.- I would rather order it in Restaurent Peking! (Peking serves good Hock Chew dishes).
Restaurant Yee Shi is right opposite the Maybank in Kampong Koh. =)
Kedai Biskut Sin Lay
Sin Lay is famous for its Gong Piah (贡饼). The one showed in the picture above is Meat Kong Piah that have meats as filling. It’s as chewy as a pack of Wrigley’s chewing gum. –.-
Another Kong Piah with onions as filling. It’s very very chewy too but i think this is much more delicious than the other one. LOL! Maybe Kong Piah does taste like that because it’s the famous one in SItiawan ![]()

I only get my legs wet eventhough they have public toilets for us to shower. No fred because the toilet is quite clean and cheap. LOL! It’s only RM 1.50 for shower and RM0.50 for normal use. God is mercy to hide sun away that day. I hate to go under the sun. Teehee.
This shocks me because I never expect people to bring their own fish net to the beach. –.- wtf. They did caught something from the sea though. There are fishes, crabs and this. LOL! I saw it in the National Geographic channel and in one of the aquarium I visited few years ago before. Too bad, I can’t remember it’s name and I’m lazy to find out. Teehee. A lot of Malays having their picnic and I’m wearing spaghetti top with shorts. =S Felt like an alien so we left shortly after soaking our legs into the sea water. =)
To be continue because it’s too long to cramp everything in a single post. ![]()
Till then!
